FK Interactive To Head Up Brand Strategy, Public Relations and Digital Media Planning for East End Market & Event Center in Orlando
East End Market, a local artisan collective inspired by America’s best food emporiums and farmer’s markets, has selected FK Interactive as its creative agency to spearhead an expanded focus on the East End Market’s community gathering spaces, and increase awareness for the brand within the Central Florida community.
As a recognized leader in the urban farming and retail development space, East End Market founder John Rife spent many years traveling across the United States, visiting cities with bustling food scenes and communities that supported local farms and makers.
His passion for sustainable commercial construction and local culture prompted the purchase of an old church in the Audubon Park Garden District in Orlando, Florida. The building was subsequently converted into the Market Hall and East End Market event spaces in late 2013. The market ethos centers upon the importance of eating locally, living sustainably, and as such, has integrated these core community values into the facility and culture at the market.
A few of the building highlights are as follows:
- As a commercial property, East End Market was one of the first businesses in Orlando to help pilot the City’s food composting program.
- In front of the market, an organic garden comprised of Florida native plants and vegetables adds to landscape, creating green space with a purpose.
- A substantive recycling program has been integrated throughout the property, down the to vendor level.
- Instead of tearing down the original construction, East End Market chose to repurpose the structure, maintaining much of the building foundation and structure.
- Within the East End Market offices, the doors are architectural salvage from Henry Flagler’s Railroad offices, located in St. Augustine, Florida.
Over the past four years, locals from in and around the Orlando area have gathered at East End Market, to satisfy their food cravings, share ideas, and create memorable events for friends, family, and colleagues alike.
While many in the Orlando area are familiar with the downstairs market, local businesses and associations have also found a second home within the East End Market event spaces, knowing that their choice of venue had a sense of place and purpose in the community.
